MOTTO: Treat others the way THEY want to be treated...
with respect, acceptance, kindness, and integrity.
When people learn to first understand and respect their own individuality, and that of others, they become empowered with thoughts of self-esteem, self-respect, and self-worth.
OK2BMe's™ educational materials and products build on this empowerment by demonstrating how believing in one’s potential, and working to achieve goals with commitment and integrity, valuable skills can be learned pertaining to conflict resolution, bullying, intolerance, prejudice and negative influences. In so doing, respectful and peaceful conversations and activities can develop based on understanding and acceptance of individual differences.
In October, 2011, the first OK2BMe™ Club was introduced at Pomona M.S. in Suffern, NY by Elaine Sunray, a teacher at the school. The goal was to give interested students the opportunity to participate in self-esteem activities and discussions with their peers, and to learn new artistic ways to express their creativity. The safe and respectful environment encouraged self-acceptance, respect, and tolerance of each other's differences. Educational products and materials supporting the OK2BMe™ Club initiative were designed by Ms. Sunray, and sold by club members to their peers, faculty, and administrators during all lunch periods. Proceeds from all sales supported club activities, materials and snacks.
